Description

This is the vacation rental for those guests who really want a log cabin experience. This authentic log cabin has a fantastic view of the mountains, uncluttered by any buildings. We describe the cabin as authentic, as the log cabin was originally built in Marion, NC in the 1800's. In 1979, this home was taken apart, the logs were numbered and then the cabin was reconstructed in its current location. All logs are dove tailed (that is why the logs were numbered) and hand hewn with chinking.

The cabin has all the modern conveniences like a kitchen with modern appliances including dishwasher. The master bath has a Jacuzzi with a picture window to enjoy that wonderful view while you soak. Even though the cabin has these wonderful modern touches, the owners' attention to authentic detail is amazing.

The location of the cabin is ideal. You are only .5 mile from the town of Banner Elk, and yet you feel secluded since the cabin is set on the border of undeveloped land owned by Lees McRae College. It is about 4.5 miles to skiing on Sugar Mountain and about 5 miles to skiing on Beech Mountain. Also, this home is perfect for a romantic honeymoon or anniversary or for your fun family vacation. This home is also pet friendly if you have a small dog that is crated you would like to bring.
